IIT Bombay organized the first-ever Open Source GIS Day celebrations on 15th September and bestowed honour to the winners/ winning organization of the National Geospatial Awards 2024 (Edition 01). Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay distributed the awards.
The National Geospatial Awards 2024 (Edition 01) is an initiative of the FOSSEE (GIS) project, IIT Bombay organized under the aegis of the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT), Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Prof. Kannan Moudgalya (P.I. FOSSEE) delivered the keynote address, and Prof. Pennan Chinasamy (Co.P.I. FOSSEE) spoke on the importance of having the Open Source GIS Day. Mr. Mohamed Kasim Khan (National Coordinator - FOSSEE GIS, NMEICT), coordinated the event.
